The Friends of Nature Conservation Society officially opposes this project because it requires fracking in order to have an adequate supply of gas to justify the plants’ existence. We are opposed to fracking in Nova Scotia due to the environmental risks and health concerns.

Furthermore, the Goldboro Natural Gas Project would increase Nova Scotia’s greenhouse gas emissions by approximately 18 per cent above 2010 emission levels and the project site is situated on forested land with waterways, wetlands and coastline that extends into Isaac’s Harbour, habitat for lobster, fish and sea urchins.
